Handmade Holidays 2010

Be sure to participate in the the 4th Annual Handmade Holidays sponsored by Sew, Mama, Sew!  Every day of the month of November, Sew Mama will have ideas for handmade gifts and recipes.  This year I plan on giving everyone on my list at least one small (or not so small) handmade gift.  I'm sure I will have lots of ideas from Handmade Holidays!

On tap today...

Got major plans today...no snoozing for me!  Going to clean out a closet and actually convert it to an office!  Plus...got some creative ideas for holiday cards and, hopefully, a very cool Christmas gift for my dad.  Lots to get done...more details to come later!

Newcastle Pullover

I'm thrilled to report that I have started making progress again on the Newcastle Sweater I started last Fall. I am so completely committed to finishing this sweater by Thanksgiving...I am going to do it if it's the last thing I do!  

I have never completed a sweater...so...I am very motivated to get it done.  I am using Lion Brand Wool-Ease.  I cannot say that this is a yarn that I like very much...it's rough to touch.  But, since I am new to sweater making and I have a long track record of not completely projects, I thought it best to not spend a lot of money on yarn that had a good chance of sitting in a wadded up back for years...

You can follow my progress via Ravelry.  To date I have completed the back and I'm 50% finished with the front.  Now, if I can just keep the little guy in the photo above out of the yarn, I AM going to finish this project!

 

Hiatus no more

After a very long hiatus...I'm slowly coming back!  It's Fall and I'm getting back into the stitchy, sewy, yarn-lovin' mood!  More to come later!
